Dual Enrollment

Dual enrollment classes give students who meet eligibility requirements an opportunity to earn college credit while in high school. Final grades in dual enrollment courses are recorded on both the high school and college transcripts. Magnet currently partners with LSUS and LA Tech to offer the dual enrollment classes below. *Classes, post-secondary institutions, prices, and requirements are subject to change.  Not every teacher who teaches the classes below are certified to offer dual enrollment.*

  • Fall Semester - Advanced Math, English IV, Precalculus, Spanish III, US History, Chemistry II w/ Lab, Physics
  • Spring Semester Advanced Math, Algebra II, Business Computer Applications, English III, English IV, Precalculus, Spanish III, US History, World History, Physics

 

Students interested in earning dual enrollment credit must be enrolled in a dual enrollment class, be on track for completing the Louisiana TOPS University Curriculum, and meet the following minimum requirements... 


LSUS and LA Tech
 
(Cost Varies -  approximately $150 - $170)

  • Must be enrolled in a junior or senior level course
  • Must have a composite score of 19 or higher on the ACT or PreACT
    • If student has a PreACT and ACT score, the ACT score will be used
  • Must have an ACT English subscore of 18 or higher
  • Must have an ACT math subscore of 19 or higher
    • For College Algebra >20 ACT/22 PreACT
  • Must have a GPA of 2.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale
    • 2.75 GPA effective fall 2019
